Rav Boaz Mori  Rosh HaYeshiva

Rav Boaz Mori received Semicha from RIETS and a BA in Mathematics from Yeshiva University. Before founding Yeshivat Lev HaTorah, he taught at BMT, Har Etzion, Shaarei Mevasseret Zion & Machon Gold and served as Head Counselor of Camp Simcha, Rosh Chinuch at Camp Moshava and Camp Rabbi at IBA. Countless numbers of students have been inspired by his personal warmth, keen insights, and selfless devotion. As Rosh HaYeshiva, Rav Boaz combines profound scholarship with enthusiasm and warmth. An intense learning session with a student may be followed that night by a gravity-defying hand stand at the wedding of an alumnus. He inspires his students and staff alike with his deep belief in each person’s potential greatness, and his uncanny ability to recognize their unique talents more clearly than even they themselves can. Rav Boaz is both a principled institution-builder and a down-to-earth educator par excellence.

Rav Binyamin Kwalwasser – Executive Director of Lev LaChayal

Rav Kwalwasser received Semicha from RIETS, a BA in Judaic Studies from Yeshiva University and an MS in Jewish Education from Azrieli Graduate School. Rav Kwalwasser models community involvement – before founding Lev HaTorah he built a thriving beit knesset in Beit Shemesh and now spearheads the Chasdei Shiloh tzedaka organization. In addition, Rav Kwalwasser recently published a book: Or L’Amim, a Light Unto the Nations, analyzing the Torah’s concern for the destiny of both Jews and non-Jews. Rav Kwalwasser connects deeply with his students, inspiring each to actualize his potential in learning and in life.

Rav Michael Cytrin – S’gan Rosh Yeshiva

Rav Cytrin received Semicha from the Meretz Kollel, a BA from the Plan II Liberal Arts Program at the University of Texas (Austin), and has an MA in Education from Teachers College of Columbia University, and served in the IDF. Before making aliya, Rav Cytrin was Principal of Judaic Studies at the Yavneh Academy in Dallas. A Licensed Tour Guide, Rav Cytrin delights in sharing his enthusiasm for the history of Eretz Yisrael with his students. Rav Cytrin founded Or l’Doron, an organization that promotes high-level Torah learning for the Ethiopian Jewish community. An expert pedagogue, Rav Cytrin has the ability to clarify and relate the most sophisticated sugyot of the Gemara and of life to his talmidim.

Rav Natanel Lebowitz – Menahel Ruchani/Alumni Coordinator

Rav Natanel received Semicha from RIETS and a BA in Biology from Yeshiva University. Before making aliya, Rav Natanel served as the assistant chief rabbi of Hong Kong. During the summers, Rav Natanel serves as Program Director for NCSY Kollel. Rav Natanel has a unique ability to connect with his students and works to ensure that each talmid in the Yeshiva grows to reach his potential. In addition to his other roles in the Yeshiva, Rav Natanel coordinates the Yeshiva trip to Poland every year and directs the Yeshiva’s ongoing commitment to maintaining our connections with alumni.

Rav Mordechai Kaplan – Program Director/Night Seder Rebbe

Rav Mordechai received Semicha from RIETS and a BA in Psychology from Yeshiva University. Rav Mordechai excels in designing tiyulim, programs, and chesed events that are both unbelievably fun and simultaneously thought-provoking. His own passionate approach to spirituality sets a tone of powerful inspiration during tefilot. In addition, Rav Mordechai is a Tour Operator and runs tours throughout Israel for groups and families. He works with GEERZ mounting biking program and is involved in various programming for youth, both in Israel and abroad. Talmidim are attracted to Rav Mordechai’s sincerity, ruchniut, and warmth.

Rav Asher Friedman – Director of Student Welfare/Morning Shiur Rebbe

Rav Asher received Semicha from RIETS, a BA in Philosophy from Yeshiva University and is completing an MA in Clinical Sociology at the University of North Texas. Rav Asher empowers his talmidim to become independent, sophisticated learners, capable of understanding Torah ideas, developing them and sharing them with others. He has published in the fields of Philosophy of Education and Chumash, and was a two-time fellow with ATID. As Director of Student Welfare, Rav Asher works with talmidim throughout the year to help them achieve their goals. His warmth, compassion, and dedication to his talmidim are the foundations for a powerful mentor relationship.

Rav Jake Vidomlanski – Director of Shana Bet Program

Rav Jake received Semicha from RIETS and a BA from Yeshiva University. Before teaching at Lev HaTorah, he served as a Shoel U’Meishiv at Yeshivat Shaalvim and taught at Reishit Yerushalayim. Over the summers, Rav Jake served as Rosh Moshava and Rosh Kollel at Camp Stone and currently is Sgan Rosh Moshava at Camp Moshava, Indian Orchard, PA. Rav Jake, known for his boundless commitment to his students, excels at helping them realize their undiscovered strengths.

Rav Michael Siev – Rebbe; Yeshiva Posek

Rav Siev received Semicha from RIETS, a BA in History from Yeshiva University, and an MS in Jewish Education from Azrieli Graduate School. Students in Rav Siev’s shiur learn how to think analytically about the Rishonim and are powerfully impacted by his deep love for learning. Rav Siev is an editor for the Steinsaltz English Talmud Series, and many of his shiurim have been featured on Yeshivat Har Etzion’s Virtual Beit Midrash and on www.yutorah.org.

Rav Ely Allen – Mashgiach Ruchani

Rav Ely’s personal warmth, comedic yet organized teaching style, and ability to relate to others, endear him to both students and colleagues. Rav Allen earned a BA in Psychology at Fairleigh Dickinson University and Semicha from YU. Before making aliya, Rav Ely was the Director of Hillel of Northern New Jersey and a faculty member at Yeshiva University. He is the Founder of the Jewish Outreach Network, which has hosted thousands of people. In addition, he served as the Rabbi of Sharei Orah, the Sephardic Congregation of Teaneck, NJ.

Rav Yehoshua Paltiel – Morning Shiur Rebbe/Senior Mashgiach

Rav Paltiel received Semicha from the Meretz Kollel and a BA in Jewish History from Yeshiva University. In the IDF, he served in the armored corps. Rav Paltiel’s mentorship has enabled many students to develop the skills and confidence to become strong learners and strong Jews. A master pedagogue, he is the author of The Longer Shorter Way: A Guide to the 7 Habits of Successful Torah Study. A talented counselor, Rav Paltiel is also a certified Neuro-Linguistic Psychology practitioner.

Rav Dudi Winker – Director of Lev LaChayal

Rav Dudi Winkler brings passion, idealism, and a fabulous sense of humor to everything he does. After high school, he served as a combat medic in the IDF, and then studied at the yeshivot in Eli, Dimona the Meretz Kollel, where he received his Semicha. After many years dedicated to learning, Rav Dudi served as a Ram and as a beloved Av Bayit at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah. In 2011, he and his family began a three year stint of Shlichut in Melbourne, Australia, where he had a tremendous impact on the community there as the Rosh Kollel of the Religious Zionist community. Rav Dudi returns to Lev HaTorah this year, thrilled to be learning with Lev students and directing Lev LaChayal.

Rav Uri Etigson – Machshevet Yisrael; Guidance

Rav Uri received Semicha from RIETS, a BA in Philosophy from Yeshiva University, and an MA in Jewish Philosophy from Bernard Revel Graduate School. During his service in the IDF, Rav Uri served as a hospital chaplain, giving support and encouragement to wounded soldiers. In his philosophy classes, Rav Uri guides students into the depths of Jewish Thought with both rational and mystical perspectives. Rav Uri is a licensed psychodrama therapist, and his compassion and insight aid many students in turning their year in Israel into a journey of profound personal growth.

Rav Simi Sherman – Night Shiur Rebbe

Rav Sherman received Semicha from RIETS. He also earned a BA in Economics from Yeshiva University, an MA in Education from Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education, and an MBA from Lynn University. As a member of the Boca Raton Community Kollel, Rabbi Sherman developed his talent for teaching both children and adults. Rav Sherman is beloved by his students for his warmth, sense of humor, and ability to inspire students to achieve their potential.

Rav Yehoshua Fass – Shana Bet Mentor

Rav Fass received Semicha from RIETS, has a BA in Biology from Yeshiva University, an MA from Azrieli Graduate School, and an Honorary Doctorate from Yeshiva University. As Director of Nefesh b’Nefesh, Rav Fass has revolutionized the attitude towards aliya in North America, and turned what was once a ‘distant dream’ into a real possibility for many idealistic Jews. Rav Fass’s students develop the skills and research abilities to prepare their own shiurim and thereby prepare themselves to make an impact when they leave Yeshiva. Rav Fass opens his home to the entire Yeshiva on Shabbat afternoon for a popular Parsha shiur.

Rav Mordechai Machlis – Afternoon Seder Rebbe

Rav Machlis received Semicha from Yeshivat Torah v’Daat and has been teaching for 25 years. He powerfully personifies chesed, dedicating his life to promoting love for all Jews and modeling a profound respect for every human being. He and his family host around 100 guests in their home each Shabbat, exposing his guests to the beauty of Torah and a vision of true Jewish unity.

Rav Shamai Warman – Morning Shiur Rebbe; Gemara Bekiyut

Rav Shamai received Semicha from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel. He teaches in Mitzpe Yericho at both the kollel and high school, in addition to teaching for many years in yeshiva programs for Americans. Rav Shamai’s legendary knowledge of all of Shas and halacha, and his skill in making even the most difficult sugyot crystal clear, make him a sought-after resource for the Yeshiva’s students.

R’ Nachman Rosenberg – Philosophy of HaRav Kook

Nachman is a graduate of the Yeshivat Hesder in Ma’aleh Adumim and was a fellow at Kollel Torah MiTzion in Chicago. In the IDF, Nachman saw active combat during the Second Lebanon War. As Executive Vice President of Tzohar, Nachman works to make Torah attractive and accessible to millions of secular Israelis. He challenges students with fascinating ideas of Rav Kook and aims to nurture a deep connection to Eretz Yisrael.

Rav Michael Kahn – Night Seder Rebbe/Shana Bet Mashgiach

Students are drawn to Rav Kahn’s down-to-earth demeanor and non-judgmental personality. He has a great ability to give guidance that relates to each student on an individual level. Rav Kahn earned a BS in Accounting, an MS in Jewish Education and Administration, and Semicha from YU. He was actively involved in NCSY Midwest and at the NCSY Kollel for many years. He has recently taught at the Leadership Yeshiva Academy and the Yerushalayim Torah Academy

Rav Yaakov Beasley – Afternoon and Night Seder Rebbe

Rav Beasley has been lecturing passionately about Tanach in different venues in Israel and abroad for almost twenty years. His essays on new methodologies in Tanach study appear regularly in Tradition magazine, and he edited Yeshivat Har Etzion’s groundbreaking parsha series Torah MiEtzion. He loves to help students enjoy learning and discover new insights. When not teaching, he is writing his doctoral dissertation at Bar Ilan on Second-Temple-era Tanach study, or playing hockey with his five sons.

Rav Yehuda Odesser – Shana Bet and Lev LaChayal Rebbe

Rav Yehuda Odesser, a researcher for several institutes of halachic guidance, is a Beit Shemesh resident, and father to seven children. Since the advent of Lev LaChayal, Rav Odesser has inspired and prepared our future chayalim for Torah-observant army service. His warm personality and expert pedagogy enable him to connect with a wide range of personalities and backgrounds. Rav Odesser received Semicha from Rav Zalman Baruch Melamed, and was ordained as a Dayan by Rav Kalav, the Rosh Kollel Psagot. For many years, he taught and inspired in Beit Shemesh as the Rosh Kollel Shaalei Torah. In addition to his passionate service to Am Yisrael in the Beit Midrash, Rav Odesser continues to volunteer in the IDF’s armored corps reserves.

Rav Yonatan Pesach Friedman – Shoel U’Meishiv

Rav Yonaton Pesach’s (Jonny) positivity, joyful humility and contagious smile allow him to connect effortlessly with all types of talmidim. His excitement and motivating nature energize their learning experiences. Along with his passion for Torah, he loves playing basketball and is an avid drummer. A beloved alumnus of Lev HaTorah (LHT ‘09-’11), Rav Friedman has taught at Yeshivat Orayta, Eshel, and the Kemach Institute. He received Semicha from Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg and an MS in Jewish Education from Azrieli Graduate School.

Rav Yehoshua Gerzi – Night Seder Rebbe

Rav Yehoshua Gerzi is a passionate educator, helping people achieve greater levels of clarity to live a life of happiness and success. Rav of the Pilzno community in Ramat Shilo, he is a highly sought-out speaker and author of Arba Yesodot. Drawing from a wide range of sources including Chassidut, Mussar, psychology and health consciousnesses, Rav Gerzi is able to engage students on every level.

Rav Yaakov Ehrenkranz – Shana Bet Rebbe

Rav Ehrenkranz’s humble and encouraging style helps students learn more than they ever realized they could. Rav Ehrenkranz earned a BA in Economics and Semicha at YU. Before making aliya, he was a rebbe in the Stone BMP program at YU. Currently, in addition to teaching, runs an investment management firm.
