Exploring the Land

On Thursday, Dec. 21st, our studnets got their hands dirty with dirt and oil of Eretz Yisrael. We worked on a local farm picking olives, crusing them and making our own olive oil. We alse began a pickling process of the olives which we will be able to enjoy in a few months. We also picked various citrus fruits and learned the valuable Halachot of how to take Trumot and Maasrot allowing us to taste our fresh fruits. After working the fields, we enjoyed our own hand made Pita bread and hand picked herbal tea. In the afternoon, we visited Rabbi Natan Slifkin's Biblical Museum of Natural History, which focuses on Animals and Tanach. It was both fun and interactive, educational and enjoyable.
